Smartrr grew out of a desire to preserve the kind of relationships that local retailers and merchants have with their in-store customers in a world that is shifting to ecommerce. The team gravitated towards the Shopify ecosystem and its community of extremely passionate DTC founders. After over 100 interviews with brands across all verticals, it was overwhelming how frequently a founder would mention their struggle with subscriptions and memberships. Their market research revealed subscriptions as a major pain point for brands and she got to work. Two years in the making, Smartrr raised over $17 million in funding, is public on the Shopify app store, and services hundreds of high growth brands who are reporting impressive stats such as 2X subscription revenue in just 60 days on Smartrr.

Ways of Working
We’re a tight-knit team with a high degree of cross-functional collaboration, ownership and opportunity for everyone, regardless of role or title. One of our favorite traditions is weekly shoutouts, where we spend a few hours every Friday celebrating the efforts of our colleagues and noting the impact they had in the prior week. Our culture emphasizes learning and transparency and we have monthly team huddles where we share important news and updates and quarterly all hands meetings to review progress as a team (and have a team social event to follow).
